DevOps Engineer - SW Delivery Expert (m/f)

In this position, you (together with your project team members) will be responsible for the evaluation, the introduction and the maintenance of our support and software delivery toolchain. This includes the coordination of the whole application lifecycle, including:
  • conceptional and architectural work
  • hands-on work on deployment, potentially coding and testing
  • coordinating a group of stakeholders and guiding them through the pilot phase
  • planning the roll-out, including documentation and trainings
  • leading a change control board and fostering coordinating continuous tool improvement

As our kind of work usually is a shared effort, we expect you to interact well and frequently with others within our organization or within the team.

Your Tasks

  • Learn how to configure, manage and deploy tools in our development stack
  • Understand the current solution and collect requirements from users
  • Work with our experts on a tool-based customer support workflow
  •  Use CI/CD efficiently to automate your development cycle
  • Set up concepts and implement new features
  • Be open to learning (and teaching) new technologies
  • Act as an intermediary between projects, Business Units and our IT team

Your Profile

  • Good know-how of and interest in process engineering
  • Ability to code and script (Python, Bash, etc.)
  • Experience with version control software (Git)
  • Strong grasp of automation tools (e.g. Jenkins)
  • Experience with deployment (e.g. Docker, Vagrant) and configuration management (e.g. Ansible, Puppet) is a plus
  • Proactive and flexible mindset
  • Good command of English
  • Comfort with collaboration, open communication and reaching across functional borders

Your performance is remunerated with an attractive and market-compliant salary. The position is subject to the Collective Agreement for Employees in the Metal Trade (Kollektivvertrag für Angestellte Metallgewerbe) and we provide a minimum salary of 40,000.- Euro gross per year. Naturally, we offer an overpayment based on your previous experience and qualifications.
