Hardware Functional Safety Engineer – Mobile Machinery (m/f/d)

Due to our sustainable growth we are looking for a Functional Safety Engineer, to take over an important function in our projects in the field of safety and process management with the aim to strengthen our market position besides our technological leadership. You are a committed and reliable team player and support our project managers in all functional safety matters and contribute to the continuous improvement and tailoring of our development processes according to functional safety standards.

Your Tasks

  • Take responsibility for the development of safety concepts for electronic control units and drive them through external authority approval (e.g. TÜV Audit)
  • Responsible for functional safety development on hardware, system and software level to meet the requirement of corresponding safety standards
  • Derivation of functional safety requirements from safety concepts
  • Evaluate and proof the design with analysis methods such as FMEA, FTA, FMEDA
  • Support the execution and observance of a product’s or project’s safety lifecycle
  • Prepare and participate in functional safety audits and assessments

Your Profile

  • Technical education in the field of computer science, electrical engineering, electronics or similar
  • Sound experience in hardware and/or software development and processes
  • Knowledge of functional safety standards (e.g. IEC 61508, ISO 13849, ISO 26262) and analysis methods (e.g. FMEA, FTA, FMEDA) is an advantage but not mandatory (possibility of learning on the job)
  • Desire to learn new skills and techniques
  • High self-motivation and the ability to find creative solutions
  • Good communication and moderation skills
  • Solid English skills, German is advantageous

Your performance is remunerated with an attractive and market-compliant salary. The position is subject to the Collective Agreement for Employees in the Metal Trade (Kollektivvertrag für Angestellte Metallgewerbe) and we provide a minimum salary of 40,000.- Euro gross per year. Naturally, we offer an overpayment based on your previous experience and qualifications.
