Marie Curie Researcher - Fog Node Architect (f/m)

Researchers will be associated with the research unit “TTTech Labs” in Vienna, Austria. The academic training and development will be ensured by research exchange visits with the Vienna University of Technology (TU Wien).

Your Tasks

  • Technology research and market study of available processors and chipsets for fog computing, with a focus on real-time, safety, and security features 
  • Development of a software architecture for fog computing, addressing suitability of hypervisor solutions and real-time operating systems 
  • Research of requirements of configuration and management tools 
  • Prototyping a fog node reference platform

Your Profile

  • Master degree (or comparable) in computer engineering / electrical engineering (or similar) 
  • Experience in software development for embedded devices
  • Know-how in virtualization (Type 1 hypervisors) beneficial
  • Know-how of embedded systems chip architectures beneficial
  • Interest in applied research and development
  • Excellent command of English (written and spoken) as well as technical writing
  • Willingness to participate in long-term research exchanges to Germany and USA (up to 3 months/year)
  • Valid visa and work permit for European Union
